1. Who operates SnapMedia
The project developer operates SnapMedia and can be contacted at ahmed.alhennawi9@gmail.com. The operator’s full legal identity and any required postal address have not yet been confirmed for publication. Hostinger is intended for the domain, but the web-hosting provider has not been confirmed. This policy must be completed against the real deployment before public launch.
2. Information processed
When you use the downloader, the server processes the video URL, source metadata such as title and thumbnail, your chosen format and quality, a random job ID, and the resulting media file. The app uses your IP address for in-process request limits. A web host or proxy may also record IP address, browser or user-agent information, time, path, and security events; its actual logging settings are not yet known. If you email the operator, your address and message are processed to respond.
3. Where the video travels
The server contacts the source platform, downloads the media to temporary server storage, may convert it with FFmpeg, and serves the completed file to your browser. The file is not delivered directly from the platform to your browser. A person who knows the unguessable temporary file URL can access it while it remains available.
4. Purposes and legal bases
The downloader processes links and files to provide the service you request. The operator expects to rely on legitimate interests in operating the free service and preventing abuse for technical and security processing, subject to a documented balancing assessment. Email enquiries are processed to respond to you. Any future non-essential analytics or advertising storage would require the appropriate consent and a separate, accurate notice. The final lawful-basis assessment must be completed for the actual operator and host before launch.
5. Retention
Prepared files and job records normally expire after about one hour through periodic cleanup; deletion timing can be affected by an active job or a server outage. The selected language and privacy-choice values remain in your browser until changed or cleared. The app does not set a fixed retention period for hosting or email logs because those systems have not been chosen or inspected. Their actual periods must be added before launch.
6. Sharing and outside services
The submitted source URL is sent by the server to the relevant platform and any media hosts it uses. Your browser requests Google Fonts from Google and may request a thumbnail from a source platform after you submit a link; those services may receive your IP address and browser details. The future web host and email provider may process technical or message data on the operator’s behalf. Following the Buy Me a Coffee link takes you to that provider’s site.
7. International transfers
The source platforms, Google Fonts, email provider, or eventual hosting provider may process data outside the UK. The exact destinations and safeguards cannot be confirmed from this repository. The operator must identify them and document any required transfer mechanism before launch.
8. Cookies and local storage
The app currently stores the selected language and privacy choices in browser local storage. It does not currently load analytics or paid advertising scripts. The Cookie Policy at /cookies explains the keys and how to change choices. A saved choice now is not consent to future unspecified advertising providers.
9. Security
The app validates direct URLs against supported HTTPS hosts, limits request size and frequency, uses random job IDs, and sends security response headers. Temporary download URLs are bearer links, and no system can guarantee absolute security. Hosting-level protection and outbound network restrictions still need verification.
10. Your rights
Depending on the processing and applicable law, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, or portability of your personal data, object to legitimate-interests processing, and withdraw consent where consent applies. Email ahmed.alhennawi9@gmail.com with a privacy request. The operator may need to verify your identity and may have to retain some information where the law requires it.
11. Complaints and changes
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled. You may also contact the operator first. Material changes to this policy should be posted here with an updated date. This policy remains a working draft until the operator identity, host, logs, and transfer details are confirmed.
